(2Z,6E)-farnesyl diphosphate = (+)-2-epi-prezizaene + diphosphate

: This enzyme, characterized from tobacco, is capable of catalysing both cisoid and transoid cyclization pathways [20175559]. When acting on (2E,6E)-farnesyl diphosphate, the enzyme produces ARISTOLOCHENE as the major product, via the transoid pathway (EC 4.2.3.9, aristolochene synthase). When acting on (2Z,6E)-farnesyl-diphosphate, the enzyme produces several products via the cisoid pathway, the major ones being CPD-13069 (44%), CPD-8776 (21.5%) (cf. EC 4.2.3.ao) and CPD-11392 (15.5%) (cf. EC 4.2.3.ap) [20201526].
