BKMS-react is an integrated and non-redundant biochemical reaction database containing known enzyme-catalyzed and spontaneous reactions. Biochemical reactions collected from BRENDA, KEGG, MetaCyc and SABIO-RK were matched and integrated by aligning substrates and products.

SPONTANEOUS
chlorophyllide a + O2 + NADPH + H+ = 71-hydroxychlorophyllide a + H2O + NADP+
-
: first step of two-step reaction (see R10080, R08203+R08204)
Chlorophyll b is required for the assembly of stable light-harvesting complexes (LHCs) in the chloroplast of green algae, cyanobacteria and plants|CITS: [10758481][15086960]|. Contains a mononuclear iron centre [15086960]. The enzyme catalyses two successive hydroxylations at the 7-methyl group of CHLOROPHYLLIDE-A. The second step yields the aldehyde hydrate, which loses H2O spontaneously to form CPD-7014 [10758481]. Chlorophyll a and protochlorophyllide a are not substrates [10758481].
